Hi, I’m Tom! I graduated in July 2024 with a BA in Classics from Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Before that I was a student at Royal Grammar School, Guildford. I got top grades in 11 GCSEs and an additional FSMQ, and for A level I took Latin, English Literature, and Mathematics.

My experience tutoring in schools and at university has taught me the importance of an engaging and enthusiastic teacher for effective learning. I know that with the right mindset and hard work every student can do well. It’s immensely fulfilling to work with a student and see their academic performance improve.

Ultimately every student is different, but the best part of the job is being sensitive to these differences and helping them to achieve their full potential. I have had a variety of different tutoring roles, including preparation for Oxbridge interviews and teaching Ancient Greek to first year university students.

Beyond Classics, I enjoy music, having played in various orchestras and sung in several choirs, including Guildford Cathedral Choir and several Oxford college choirs. I enjoy cross-country running and have a broad interest in history and literature.
