Sophia
Hi! I’m Sophia and I’m a Maths and Philosophy student at the University of Oxford. Prior to Oxford I studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science at A-Level. Outside of academics, I play guitar and have recently taken up ice hockey.
I find that every student has a different style of learning that works best for them. I endeavour to tailor my method of teaching to each student’s individual needs. I think the best tutoring lessons are interactive, and that students learn much more by actively engaging with their tutor than from listening to someone talk at them for an hour!
I have experience tutoring students at both GCSE and A Level, as well as running a debating and public speaking club. My main goal with tutoring is to build up student’s confidence in their own abilities, and to help them build up the skills they need to tackle new content and difficult questions.
