Hello, I’m Sarah and I am a Geography graduate from the University of Oxford. After doing my A Levels, where I received A*A*A studying Geography, English Literature, and Maths, I have been excited to further discover where my own interests lie within Geography as an academic discipline at University.
I have been tutoring in Geography for a number of years, with students ranging from key stage 2 all the way to A Level, which has forced me to be creative in how I teach, adapting to each individual student. Above all, I believe that the best way to learn involves collaboration between myself and my student, so that we learn according to their interests, utilising their strengths to achieve their goals.
Being creative in learning comes naturally to me, I am constantly using what I learn outside my course and applying it to an academic context. Studying Geography to the undergraduate level has allowed me to delve in depth in the topics that particularly interest me.
My experiences both as a student at Oxford and as a private tutor, have taught me to listen closely and respond to questions with immediacy and clarity, and has demonstrated the importance of being able to present complex information clearly. I believe this is an essential skill, especially when coming to understand complex topics as explored in A Level.
