Sara - history, University of oxford

Hello! I am Sara and I recently graduated from Christ Church, Oxford, with a History degree. History is something I have always been fascinated by and continued to learn about, from school to University.

My approach to tutoring relies on prioritising turning weaknesses into strengths, especially in a subject such as History, which can sometimes feel overwhelming, due to its broad contents. The most important aspect is listening to the student’s concerns and creating a thorough and strong plan as to how these will be tackled. Through a mix of guidance and encouragement towards independence, the aim is to grow their confidence and their dedication, attaining gradual self-improvement.

I have been part of various outreach programmes during my time at Oxford, including those for the History Faculty. Through this especially, I have enjoyed sharing my passion for History and encouraging fellow applicants, as well as providing guidance with future applications. Alongside tutoring to students of a variety of ages, I have also taken part in voluntary tutoring programmes which offer support to students wishing to apply to Oxbridge. I continue to apply this dedication throughout my tutoring work, by supporting each student to attain their academic goal and reach their utmost ability.
