Phil, Geography - University of Oxford

Hi, I’m Phil! I read Geography at Oxford University (Hertford College), graduating in the summer of 2024. Prior to university, I studied at St Paul’s School, where I achieved two Cambridge Pre-U D1s (A** equivalent) in Physics and Italian, as well as an A* in Geography and an A in Maths at A-level. I also attained 11 A* GCSEs and one A.

I have four years of experience tutoring students and have helped them secure places at both Oxford and Cambridge in the 2024 and 2025 admission cycles. I have also enabled GCSE and A-level students to achieve their dream grades.

I have three years of experience at a leading multinational university admissions consultancy, where I have assisted with UK undergraduate personal statements, Oxbridge admissions tests (TSA & GAT), Oxbridge interview training, and broader academic enrichment. I primarily focus on Geography and Environmental Sciences/Humanities applications but have also supported Oxbridge and Russell Group applicants in Computer Science, Sports Science, and Humanities as an interview and application essay mentor.

I also have significant experience helping students across various school levels. Through my network of longstanding clients in SW London, I have tutored A-level Geography, Physics, and Spanish, as well as taught GCSE Geography, Physics, Maths, Spanish, and Italian. Furthermore, I have helped prepare students for 11+/13+ entrance exams and interview assessments for top private and grammar schools.

My tutoring style is entirely personalised to meet each student’s individual needs. Through my experience, I’ve learned that everyone possesses their own unique strengths and areas for improvement, making a flexible and adaptive approach essential. My genuine passion for the subjects I teach drives me to inspire and support students in reaching their full academic potential. I am committed to fostering an open, encouraging environment where students can develop intellectually and build confidence. My ultimate goal is to ensure they gain a thorough and lasting understanding of the material.

Outside of the classroom, I was on the Hertford College, Oxford University Junior Common Room Executive Committee as the Sports Officer (2023-24), as well as the Hertford College Athletic Football Club Captain
