Megan - human sciences, University of oxford

Hello! I’m Megan and I recently completed my degree in Human Sciences at Keble College, Oxford. I received a scholarship following my first year exams, in which I ranked 1st in the year. Human Sciences is a unique, inter-disciplinary degree which studies humans from a social, biological and cultural perspective. Over the course of my three years in Oxford, I took modules spanning from physiology to demography to social policy. 

At A-level, I studied Biology (A*), English Literature (A*) and History (A*). I also completed an EPQ (A*) on the morality of the Victorian education system. Alongside my studies, I have tutored in a variety of subjects, personalising my approach to ensure students maximise their potential. I also have experience providing guidance to potential Oxbridge applicants. I have previously worked as a mentor providing advice on the application process, as well as running mock interviews. I believe it is important to tailor tutoring sessions according to each student as an individual, particularly discovering the mode/activities through which they learn best.

Outside of my studies, I have held numerous leadership positions, including captaining both my college and university football team. Furthermore, as Head Girl at my secondary school, I developed excellent organisational skills. I am well-equipped to advise students who might require support in refining their study skills and can provide guidance around revision planning and time management.
