Leora
Hi, I’m Leora and I have just graduated with a double-first in Music from the University of Cambridge. At A-level I achieved A*AA grades in Music, Maths and Chemistry, whilst leading the National Youth Orchestra (NYO) of GB and Royal College of Music (Junior Department) orchestras. I am currently studying for my Masters in Violin Performance (with a scholarship) at the Royal College of Music. I also play the piano, oboe and viola beyond grade 8 standard.
From the ages of 13-18 I was involved in the NYO’s outreach projects which included instrumental teaching and guidance to children in primary to secondary schools. I also have experience teaching music theory.
Music beyond school lessons can be hugely beneficial. Being a musician whilst a student requires dedication but always results in the ability to focus, self-motivate, and self-discipline: skills that become extremely important at university and beyond. Learning how to be more liberated in creativity, monitoring oneself during practice and preparing for performances are involved in my teaching and tutoring.
