hugh
Hi, I’m Hugh and I have recently graduated from the University of Oxford, where I read Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE). At A-Level I studied Chemistry, Physics, and Maths.
In my gap year, I worked for a term as a teaching assistant at a school in London. I ran Chemistry support clinics for A-Level students, as well as helping out in Physics and Biology classes from 11+ to GCSE level. I also enjoyed writing a weekly newsletter on the latest science news to get students interested in the subject around the syllabus. Outside of work I also tutored Sciences and Maths for 13+.
After working in classrooms and running support classes, I have seen that students often need a personalised approach as well as some confidence in and passion for the subject. I have also learnt many different teaching techniques from working in a school and there is one for everyone. Having a scientific and a social scientific background I am always keen to learn new things and I hope to pass this enthusiasm on.
