Harini - geography, University of oxford
Hi, I’m Harini! I recently graduated from the University of Oxford after studying BA Geography, and I’m now pursuing an MSc in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science. I absolutely loved my undergraduate degree and chose to focus on Human and Environmental Geography in my second and third years, taking modules related to Geopolitics, Development and Childhood in the Global South.
Before attending university, I studied A-Level Geography (A*), Economics (A*) and Maths (A) at St Olave’s and St Saviour’s Grammar School. I completed my GCSEs at Nonsuch Grammar School for Girls, receiving top-grades, including 10 9’s and an A in FSMQ Maths. Outside of academia, I co-founded a feminist podcast and blog in sixth-from, which I’m still passionate about and enjoy running.
I have tutoring experience across multiple age groups and subjects, ranging from students in Years 5/6 preparing for their 11+ exams to undergraduates. I am confident that I can effectively tutor to best suit each student’s unique style of learning. I have also mentored aspiring Oxbridge candidates through the UCAS process by reviewing personal statements and conducting mock interviews.
I really enjoy teaching, and I’m a firm believer that you can do absolutely anything that you put your mind to! Academia, particularly exams and applications, can be nerve-wracking and frustrating. Hence, on top of sharing subject knowledge and helping students refine their exam technique, I also strive to foster a genuine enthusiasm for learning, develop my tutees’ critical thinking skills, and build confidence in their own capabilities.
