Emily
Hi, I’m Emily! I graduated from Oxford last year with a degree in History, and I’m returning next year to do a Masters in Early Modern History.
The humanities were the focus of my studies at school. For my A Levels I took History (A*), English Literature (A*), Philosophy and Religion (A), and an Extended Project Qualification (A*) on Middle Eastern religious history. My passionate and encouraging teachers helped to instil in me a love of these subjects, and I hope that I can give some of that back to my own students.
I know many students can find the prospect of the humanities a daunting one, crammed full of names and dates and essays. I also know that, taught properly, these subjects can be so exciting, filled with stories about the past and ideas of the present – whether you are learning at KS2 or A Level.
Over the past few years I have tutored and mentored students of varying age, from encouraging the academic confidence of 8 year olds to preparing students for the Oxbridge History Aptitude Tests and interview. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and ability, helping to share my enjoyment and understanding of the humanities subjects.
