Hi, I’m Andy. I am a fourth-year Chemistry student at New College Oxford. I studied Maths, Chemistry and Biology at A-level getting A*’s in all three. In my first year of University, I ranked 3rd overall in the year, whilst in second year I came 2nd overall in supplementary organic chemistry. In the Oxford chemistry course, we do not specialise and therefore take Physical, Inorganic, and Organic chemistry to a high level. It is only by identifying the links between the three branches that Chemistry as a whole can be understood.

I tutored at sixth form college and enjoyed building relationships and helping people of all levels with maths, chemistry, and biology. I tutor all these subjects at GCSE level, Chemistry and Maths at A-level, and Chemistry for entrance exams and interviews.

I believe that communication between the tutor and student is essential to making an efficient tutoring plan. Early on we will go through the specification for the exams and identify any areas of weakness. Tutorials will then consist of discussion of these areas, going beyond the specification if it is of interest to the student, as well as going over many exam questions.
