Alex
Hi, my name is Alex, and I am just finishing my first year of Economics and Management at the University of Oxford. After spending 9 years living in Singapore and Malaysia, I came to England where I did both my GCSEs and IB at Sevenoaks School.
I scored 42 across my IB and I took the following IB Higher Level subjects: Mathematics, Economics and Chemistry; and the following IB Standard Level subjects: Literature and Performance, Physics and French. I have a genuine love for my subjects, and I like to allow this passion to shine through my tutoring. I like sessions to be engaging and enjoyable, as I think this inspires a desire to learn which is crucial to anyone who wants to be successful. I have honed my tutoring skills through tutoring over 10 students in a variety of subjects as well as through running my school’s economics society, where I often had to present and explain complex ideas in clear and interesting ways.
I like to listen to feedback and adapt the style and content of lessons to a way that most benefits the individual student, as I have found that different people respond very differently to the same stimulus – not everyone learns in the same way.
Here are two testimonials from happy students:
“A very flexible, patient and knowledgeable tutor. Alex explains things brilliantly, helping me understand even the most complex concepts very quickly. Without Alex, I would not have got a 9 in GCSE maths and chemistry, and his A-level maths tutoring has been superb.”
“Alex is really friendly, and always explains concepts in a way that makes them easy to understand. His admissions expertise, coupled with his patience and approachability, make him an excellent tutor - I highly recommend!” – Successful Oxford Economics & Management Applicant
